Payment and Disclaimers

  1. All prices are quoted in NZ Dollars. A booking is only confirmed upon receipt of a 30 % non-refundable deposit of the total guiding fee.
  2. At the time of booking, two invoices will be sent. One for the 30 % non-refundable deposit, and the second for the remainder of the guiding fee. Complete balances can be paid either:
    1. At the time of booking in its entirety including the 30 % non-refundable deposit. Or,
    2. At the start of the guiding expedition as either cash, Credit Card, mobile EFTPOS, or by internet banking. Credit card surcharges apply (see below).
  3. Online payment options include PayPal, Credit Card, or internet bank transfer. Payments by PayPal will incur an additional 4 % charge to cover PayPal transaction fees. Payments by credit card will incur an additional 2.5 % (International) or 1.5 % (NZ Domestic) fee to cover bank charges.
  4. If wader and boot hire is required, this will be paid at the start of the guiding expedition. See above Payment options in 2.2.
  5. Cancellations and Refunds:
    1. Early cancellations will receive a full refund, less the 30 % non-refundable deposit. We can try and move your guiding dates should dates no longer suit.
    2. Late cancellations are a burden for any small business. Therefore cancellations within 7 days of the booking are not eligible for a refund. Joel reserves the right to grant refunds during this period at this own discretion.
    3. I strongly recommend all international travellers to have their own travel insurance. This will not only cover changes of plans, delay, or unforeseen cancellations; but will cover for loss, injury, or sickness.
    4. There are no refunds for no-shows.
    5. The guide can not control the weather, river levels, clarity of the water, or the wind! In inclement weather, we will endeavour to adapt the fishing strategy to find somewhere fishable. In rare situations, trips may be rescheduled or cancelled at the guide’s discretion due to unsafe weather or river conditions. In such cases, a full refund (less the non-refundable deposit) or trip rescheduling will be offered.
  6. Liability. Participation is at your own risk. The guide is not responsible for any loss, injury, medical conditions, or damage incurred during the trip. Again, for this reason international travellers are highly recommended to have their own travel insurance.
